History

1818
John Cockerill built his first boilers. They were intended for the steam engines used in industry and were later used to power barges, and then steam locomotives.

1966
Cockerill supplied its first heat recovery steam generator for a combined cycle power plant (HRSG).

1987
CMI acquired Denaeyer (Antwerp, Belgium), owner of the Denapak brand and specialist in industrial and waste incineration boilers.

1991
CMI took over Babcock Belgium, specialised in boiler maintenance.

1996
CMI consolidated its Maintenance and Services activities, creating the CMI Energy Services Business Unit which grew rapidly. In less than ten years, the Energy Services network has expanded to include seven sites in Belgium, France and the Netherlands.

2002
CMI created a CMI Energy Services office in France.

2004
CMI acquired the assets of the company EPTI (Pennsylvania, USA), specialist in horizontal heatt recovery steam generators.

2005
To strengthen its position in China, CMI granted a licence for the manufacturing and sales of its heat recovery steam generators to Wuxi Huaguang Boiler Co Ltd. located in the province of Jiangsu.
