John Cockerill builds his first battleship for the Dutch Navy. A few years later, he supplies his first gun carriages to the Belgian Army.
1890 onwards Following the acquisition of the “Nordenfelt” patents, Cockerill starts building guns and revolving turrets (cupolas) for military fortresses.
1970 onwards In the early 1970s, CMI became the designer of a family of 90 mm weapon systems. It was recognised internationaly for the design of the Mk3 gun, of which more than 2 300 were sold worldwide, thanks in particular to the transfer of a manufacturing licence to the company Engesa in Brazil.
1980 onwards The CMI Group designed and integrated turrets, starting in 1980 with the CM90, which latter became the CSE90.
1990 onwards The Group developed the Mk8 gun and the LCTS90 weapon system, which were marketed from 1993 onwards. CMI obtained a first order in 1997.
2002-2005 Starting in 2002, CMI developed and finalised a new innovative weapon system using the experience aquired from the LCTS90 and CSE90. Called the CT-CV™ Weapon System, this new system is equipped with a 105 mm calibre advanced technology gun. It was presented at the Eurosatory show (France) in 2004, where it made a strong impression.
