Roll coaters

Roll coating allows a very accurate coating deposition while minimizing waste solutions and effluents, thus increasing quality and cost-efficiency and leading to an environmentally friendly process.

Typical industrial coatings include :

• Chemical coatings : passivating, phosphating, anti-finger print, TOC (thin organic coatings), treatment before painting, etc. (including latest Cr3 or Cr-free versions)
• Organic coatings conventional primers, backing coats and finish paint coatings (polyester, PVDF, Polyurethane, etc.) plastisol, treating primers, UV-cured coatings, etc
• Varnishes (e.g: insulating varnishes for electrical steels)

Spray-and-squeeze units

Whilst roll-coaters remain extremely popular, spray-and-squeeze units can still represent the most appropriate solution for specific applications. Typical use is for Mg-O and Carlite varnish coatings on electrical steels, or when longer contact time between the coating solution and the metal is required.
