CMI Thermline has supplied silicon steel heat treating furnaces “world-wide”.

CMI Thermline can provide process line equipment for the heat treatment of all grades of silicon steel strip and for all of the necessary process functions from the beginning to the end including:

  • hot Rolled or Cold Rolled Annealing & Pickling Line (APL), also known as Normalizing Line (NL)
  • decarburizing Line (DL)
  • continuous Annealing (Recrystalization) Line (CAL)
  • continuous Coating Lines for MgO, Varnish, etc.
  • combination Lines that incorporate the above such as:
    • tandem / Duplex Anneal (TAL /DAL)
    • coating and Thermal Flattening (TF)
  • batch Type Furnaces for High Temperature Annealing
  • continuous “Tunnel” Type Furnaces for High Temperature Annealing

To reach your production target for any of the process equipment listed above, CMI Thermline will utilize multiple equipment designs along with our vast experience to apply the latest technology innovations.

To satisfy the different thermal processing cycles (recipes) production output requirements, CMI Thermline will offer the correct combination of:

  • heating ---> A combination of different types of heating equipment will be applied to obtain the required thermal recipe:
    • direct-fired Furnaces with insulating brick or lightweight fiber insulation and burners for low emissions.
    • indirect-fired Furnaces with insulating brick or lightweight fiber insulation and radiant tube burners for low emissions.
    • electrically Heated Furnaces with insulating brick or lightweight fiber insulation and “heavy duty” resistance type heating elements selected to accommodate the temperature and atmosphere environments.
    • induction Heating Furnaces for fast heating rates where desired or for applications with space restrictions.
  • cooling ---> A combination of different types of cooling equipment will be applied to obtain the required thermal recipe:
    • static Cooling (Water Jacket)
    • static Air Tube Cooling
    • slow Jet Cooling
    • fast Jet Cooling
    • water Spray
  • strip Transport ---> A combination of different types of strip transport conveyor roll equipment will be applied to accommodate the required thermal recipe:
    • dry Rolls
    • water Cooled Rolls
    • coated Rolls
  • automation and Control ---> A clever combination of different levels of control of the complete thermal process:
    • level 1 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
    • thermal Recipes
    • mathematical Model (patented L-TOP® ) for process optimization
    • tele-maintenance using remote control & assistance
