Semi- continuous and continuous pickling lines are used for high capacity production with continuous operation by stitching or welding.
The strip accumulators, also called loopers, positioned at the entry and exit section of the line ensure a consistent product flow during the joining, coiling and removal of the steel coils.
In the continuous pickling line the line runs at constant speed, while in the semi-continuous line the speed of the strip is reduced during the changeover or coil joining due to small capacity loopers.
The installation of Semi-Continuous Lines is highly cost-effective thanks to its simpler looper design, while the Continuous Pickling Line provides the highest production capacity.
- Continuous operation by stitching or welding
- Joining, coiling and removal of steel coils
- Continuous line runs at constant speed
- Semi-continuous line runs at varying speeds
- High turbulence pickling: ensures uniform pickling conditions & high heat transfer rates
- High pressure spray rinse arrangement: guarantees a clean surface without residual contamination
- Hook vibration: for uniform pickling
- Online instrumentation & automated pickling process: guarantees constant quality and optimized throughput, essential for high capacity lines
- Individual treatment steps & sequence: for different steel types and qualities
- Training of operators & after sales service: guarantees constant safe operation and high product while increasing up-time
- Optimized control of the pickling process based on CMI Chemline latest PPM (Pickling Process Management), along with fully automated Acid Control Management System, ensure the environmentally safe operation of your plants using the best available technology. Environmental protection starts inside the plant and includes a closed vent process with a dedicated exhaust system. Waste air treatment prevents escape of fumes from the pickling line.
- Stand-by essential equipment (e.g. exhaust fan) ensures safe operation of the plant even under extreme working conditions.
- Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) puts the plant into safe stand by mode in the event of power loss.
