Drum shear with two knifes per drum. The knives are screwed on the radius of each of both drums. The shear is arranged 3 degree turned to the strip-transverse axis. The knives are embedded spirally in the drum by 3° in opposite direction. All bearing seats and gear pairs are oil-lubricated.
This results a very smooth and proper cutting of the strip. The drums are driven on both sides by means of backlash free gear pairs. During the standstill of the knife drums the strip is guided, by the top entry and an exit pinch roll, straight through a free channel between the knife drums.
