CMI, an organizational matrix

CMI's organization reflects the combination of engineering and maintenance expertise the Group implements to provide industries with the best products and services portfolio available on the market. The extendend geographical coverage of the Group also guarantees an efficient local service.

The structure of the CMI Group hinges on five key concepts:

Sectors (=customer markets):

The Group operations are divided into 4 Sectors that match 4 specialized markets: CMI Energy, CMI Defence, CMI Industry, and CMI Services.

Business Units (=operational units reporting to the same management)

Each Sector manages Business Units (BU) that often are equivalent to legal entities(except for CMI sa, CMI FPE and CMI Americas). Each Business Unit is in charge of the proper completion of its contracts and guarantees its individual profitability. The operations of a single BU can be spread over more than one location.

Poles (= market niches)

The Technological Poles combine expert resources from a Sector, dedicated to a product or service line and matching a specific market niche. The Poles manage the strategic (sales or technical) development of the specific product/service portfolio.

Poles may have their own operational units or rely on the operational network of the Sector for the completion of the contracts.

Regions (= market zones)

When the market area is broad and a Sector is present through numerous units, operations are gathered geographically under one single management. This approach aims at covering the area better commercially, providing customers with a close follow-up and rationalizing Sector ressources in one zone.

Support Units (= shared support department)

The Support Units are grouped within the so-called Corporate. They operate across the Group and support synergies between Sectors. They guarantee the Group consistancy.
