CMI Thermline provides process equipment (Batch, Semi-batch and Continuous type) for the heat treatment of a variety of materials (Steel, Copper, Brass, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Zirconium, Tungsten, Titanium, Beryllium, etc) in a myriad of sizes, shapes forms and thermal cycles.
To be able to process a vast number of forms of material, CMI Thermline offers the following type of furnaces:
- Roller Hearth Furnace: Close center roller hearth furnace for the heat treatment of pipe, tube, coils, and solid shapes to allow for continuous processing.
- Batch Type Furnace: Heat treatment, both heating and cooling, on a start/stop basis. This allows for design of oversized components as well as heavy pieces that require extended soaking times.
- Tilting Cover Furnace: For installations and locations that have limited overhead clearance or installations better served by fork trucks. Top of furnace tilts back via hydraulic cylinders past centerline to allow total access from any means of material movement.
- Wire Anneal Furnace: Individual strand anneal furnaces to allow for linear annealing and minimization of atmosphere consumption due to individual muffles.
- Heating Means: Furnaces can be heated by means of direct fired or radiant tube heated or electric means.
- Heat treatment from 200°C and 1200°C
- A single furnace can be equipped with multiple atmospheres to allow processing of many products in a single furnace
- Furnace can be heated by means on direct gas fired, gas fired radiant tubes, or electric elements
- Furnace can be equipped with jet cooling to allow for varied controlled of cooling rates required for different processes
- Fiber insulation installed to allow for faster temperature transitions, transitions from heating to cooling, and faster start-up and shut down times
- PLC with safety control to allow for safe operation of furnaces in conjunction with excellent control of the furnace cycles
- PLC control allows control of a group of furnaces, dramatically increasing uptime, efficiency, and total throughput
- Energy consumption with the right choice of combustion technologies. Regenerative combustions systems are available for initial installation, or for revamping
- The furnace can be shop erected in CMI shop in shippable sections to minimize field installation time
- Roller hearth furnaces allow multiple choices of cooling, depending on material and cycle being processed. Rapid jet cooling, pipe coil cooling (forced convection or static), or water jacket cooling
- Wire strand anneal furnace allow for annealing of wire, by the strand, instead of the entire coil form, allowing for more accurate annealing temperatures and better uniformity throughout the length of wire
- Titling cover furnace allows for loading and unloading of material by means of overhead crane or fork truck, as the cover tilts past centerline. This furnace is also advantageous for facilities with limited overhead space or crane capacity. Also, this arrangement does not require additional area to place multiple furnace covers
- Tilting cover is actuated open by means of dual hydraulic cylinders. This smooth motion allows for extended furnace life, as the covers are not being placed on the floor by crane of fork truck
